Welcome to Biomanager

This copy of Biomanager is maintained on a voluntary basis coordinated by Prof Peter Reeves of the University of Sydney. It has been made available following the closure of the ANGIS/BioManager service previously provided by Sydney Bioinformatics..

This copy of BioManager is NOT a continuation of the ANGIS/BioManager service, which has closed. There is no support, no guarantee of data backups, and no guarantee of continuity. The Terms of Agreement pertaining to the ANGIS/BioManager service do not apply. However, the hardware is of good quality and substantial redundancy has been built into the system. It is configured to make regular backup of data, but this is not monitored to ensure it takes place. In the event of a failure, Peter Reeves will attempt to have the system restarted and data retrieved but there is no guarantee this will take place. Those who use this system do so at their own risk.

The arrangement is expected to be temporary pending another organization taking responsibility for hosting and maintaining the BioManager application for the Australian research community. However, there is no guarantee this will take place and no time frame as to how long this interim copy of BioManager will be available. It may be discontinued at any time without notice.

Accordingly, in order to use this copy of BioManager, you must download any data you wish to keep from the ANGIS/BioManager download service before December 14, 2009 and certify you have read, understood, and agreed to the conditions below.

If you do this, it should be possible for your current files in the ANGIS/BioManager service to be automatically migrated and made available in this copy of BioManager, thus allowing you to continue where you left off, although there is also no guarantee this transfer will take place or be accurate or correct if it does.

ANGIS/BioManager. refers to the installation of BioManager provided as part of the Australian National Genomic Information Service, managed from January 2, 2007 to November 30, 2009 by Sydney Bioinformatics, formerly available at www.angis.org.au
New BioManager. refers to the copy of BioManager maintained on a voluntary basis coordinated by Prof Peter Reeves of the University of Sydney from December 2009, available at biomanager.info

While New BioManager offers the same suite of functionality as ANGIS/BioManager, no services or support previous provided by Sydney Bioinformatics are available for New BioManager and, specifically, there is no guarantee of continuation of access or retrieval of data in the event of any failure in the system.
